Muslim #1 Muslim kills own child; therefore "Islam = Death"? that a very large claim. lol common now...I would not expect something like that from you publicly. Very ignorant thing to say. When the media Highlights a couple of occurences dealing with Muslims it is Islam to blame? What about all the other Parent-child homicides that occur Yearly? Suicides? Drug Over Doses? I wonder what religion they are? There are blacksheep in every religion including Islam & Christianity.

See Christian Guy, it is not just the "Honour Killings" that upsets you. Regardless of what Muslims do, You have a problem with Islam as a religion- quite evident.

Is it the Qur'an that upsets you? - which has only the most beautiful things to say about Jesus(pbuh) and the Virgin Mary. The Qur'an also relates a Miracle of Jesus(pbuh) which you wont find in any Bible.

Christian Guy It's true, I have a very serious problem with Islam. As honour killings demonstrate, Islam has a strong fascination with death, even to the point of glorifying death, when it comes about in accordance with the teachings of the Qur'an. It is no wonder then that those who follow the Qur'an commit murders and are willing to die themselves for the sake of Islam (e.g., suicide bombings). One simply has to read the news about what is happening around the world to come to this conclusion.

However, I also believe Hinduism/ Buddhism/ Judaism/ etc. = religions of death... spiritual death. There is no life apart from Jesus Christ, who himself is the source of eternal life for all who believe in him. Islam is simply more violent than these other religions and more dangerous because it is also a political ideology with aspirations for global dominance.

Muslim #2 ...I pray that you can see the satire in what I just quoted and that you lift your veil of ignorance and perhaps even the subliminal hatred of Islam that you hold deep in your heart as you have shown by equating two tragic domestic violence events in Canada to Islam and the 1 billion + people in the world who proudly consider themselves Muslims. No doubt, this is compounded by the fact that whenever there is a domestic violence occurrence in immigrant Muslim families in the West, the media is quick to label the issue as an "honour killing."

From the almost 600,000 strong Muslim population in Canada and 1 billion worldwide, you chose the murder of 5 women to generalize the entire religion (0.0008% of the Canadian Muslim population). You went to a public high school in Brampton, come on: of your female Muslim peers, how many of them have been found floating in Lake Ontario? How many of your Muslim peers are behind bars for killing their families in the name of Islam? Please….

Christian Guy Muslim #2, Islam as practiced in Canada is not a true reflection of Islam. Last I checked Canada is not an Islamic country. To view a more accurate representation of Islam you can look to Iran, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, etc. Would you want your children living under the oppression of Sharia law? Canada is what it is because of this nations Judeo-Christian roots. Never take for granted the freedom you have here.

Muslim #2 Last I checked I was Muslim, and I am appalled that you have the audacity to claim what "true" Islam is, your ignorant xenophobic views do not make you a specialist in this regard. In fact, I just finished offering 1 of my 5 daily obligatory prayers, although my knowledge is not infinite I can safely assume I know more about the religion I FREELY CHOOSE to practice than you.

Canada (and the US) was founded by our Judeo-Christian founding fathers after they annihilated the majority of the “pagan” indigenous people, and stole their land; an act that by any definition would be considered genocide.

Our benevolent founding fathers then signed treaties with tribes/peoples/nations they could not eliminate only to break their promises later on once they were in a stronger position which have resulted in unresolved treaty disputes throughout North America which are still being fought in the courts

Muslim #2 The surviving children were then forced into our prestigious residential schools where they were forced to forget their own culture, language, values, have their names anglicized and coerced to become Christians (world dominance??), and let’s not forget the extracurricular activities the noble clergy dabbled in.

These were not isolated incidents (like the one you used to paintbrush Islam) and according to your philosophy would by default be an accurate representation of Christianity, since we are apparently a “Christian” Nation. All these incidents and the history of our birth as a nation is a startling representation of Christianity if we follow your reasoning.

Muslim #1 Lets have a friendly Discussion:
Where does Jesus(pbuh) ever say "I am God" or "Worship me" in the Gospel? Show me ONE place. Does Jesus even utter the Words "Trinity" in your Bible? Such a basic and fundamental principal of your religion is no where found in your scripture, yet you follow it. When all previous prophets came with one message "Your God is One", now all of a sudden after Jesus, God is 3in1? Which logically doesn't even make sense:

How can the God who has NO beginning have a beginning (Jesus), and God who is ever lasting, die (as Jesus in Christianity), and God who is not dependent be dependent as Jesus was (man)? ILLOGICAL.

So God revealed Al Qur'an To the Last and Final Messenger because the Oneness of All Mighty God had been distorted through additions & fabrication to previous scriptures. Al-Qur'an remains intact:

"But they have no knowledge therein.
They follow nothing but conjecture;
and conjecture avails nothing against Truth." - Qur'an

Christian Guy Don't miss my point Muslim#2: here in Canada you have religious/ political freedoms you would not have in an Islamic state such as Saudi Arabia. Conversely, as a Muslim living in a secular state such as Canada, you are inhibited from living under the rule of Sharia law to the fullest extent possible. Therefore, for a Muslim to live in an Islamic state such as Afghanistan would allow that individual the capacity to express his/ her faith more faithfully. If I wanted to see what a true Muslim looked like/ thought like/ lived like, I wouldn't look in Canada, but rather Afghanistan.

Christian Guy Joshua MejiaA more accurate expression of Islam would be found in the societal life of Afghanistan. As you probably know, Afghanistan is a country where women are oppressed and where there is religious persecution.

Christian #4 Christian Guy, I am proud to be a Christian, but surely you must have known that posting such a comment would draw criticism from your Muslim friends. We have our reasons for believing in the gospel of Jesus Christ, and they have their reasons for calling our faith illogical. Let's try to get along while we still can. They might not share our faith, but they are still our neighbours.
Muslim#2, I noticed that you make some of the same logical fallacies that Joshua makes (re what constitutes an "isolated incident"). Perhaps you did it on purpose to draw attention to the hole in his argument.
How can we, as followers of God, expect to honour God by attempting to calculate which religion has committed more atrocities, while highlighting atrocities committed by members of the other religion and downplaying atrocities committed by members of our own religion? We must recognize that we are imperfect followers of a perfect God.

Muslim#2 Christian#4, yes I was attempting to bring to the fallacy in his argument by using the same device against him. I specifically mentioned that I was be satirical.

Religion is not defined by borders, rather its people. You cannot tell someone what their own true religion is. I know it better than you, as you know Christianity better than me. You live it, you breathe it. The oppression in Afghanistan is not a religious issue, it maybe construed that way by the oppressors but it isn't. I am sorry but this is the truth, not what FOX News wants you to believe.

I am not missing your point, but it is in fact you who is missing his own: I am happy to have the freedoms that I have in Canada, but I shouldn't be thanking Christians or Christianity for them. I am sorry but this is fact. I am productive member of Canadian society, pay my taxes etc. I am entitled to all the rights given to me under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and the UN Human Rights, and ultimately my God given rights.

Muslim #2 If I were to thank Christianity for my freedoms than how would you reconcile same sex relationships, abortions, euthanasia etc. that this great country allows and does not persecute or prosecute those perform these acts. For the vast majority of Christian denominations these are non-negotiable; yet you can walk down Yonge St. during gay pride week and observe and participate in homoerotic merriment. All of which are rights that are allowed under our constitution the same rights that guarantee religious freedom. So please don't ask me to thank Judeo-Christian values for my right to practice MY religion.

Today team Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka to win the tournament. It seems like the two teams that made it into the finals were the two who had huge turmoil mess in their countries. Seems like to me...if you want a good cricket team then make sure theres a civil riot in your country :)

George Galloway

So for those of who dont know who this man is...he is a British MP, very outspoken on his views in the middle east regarding the Palestine/Isreal conflict. He was also recently banned from entering Canada from the Conservative Party of Canada because he was a national security threat to the country. Its a shame because i really wanted to hear him speak. The following is a video a friend posted on facebook and now im going to put it up on my blog. I hope you enjoy it...and also i love the final minute. The lady tries to cut him up but i think George wins this one. Sky News is a ultra conservative news station in the UK...much like FOX News.

Canadian Federal Elections

So the federal elections are very soon...and i live in the riding of Ruby Dhalla. I remember the sunday that it was announced her signs were up by noon. But seriously...does she really need to press so hard? we know shes going to win Brampton North like is there a competition? we will see mid October

Victory for Obama!

What a relief! Barack Obama has won the Democratic Delegation and now will now be going head to head with John Mccain now that Hilary Clinton stepped down for being wayyyy out of the nominations race. Alhamdulillah...the whole world is not insane! :D

Time to get a little political

I came across this "Black Ribbon for Gaza" campaign from another blog while browsing the web. Check it out here so facebook it, msn it, blog it or what ever else you do and if you don't know whats going on then i suggest you pick up a paper and read!

Gaza Crisis

A few days ago, the Egyptian government opened its border to the Palestinians. Why? Because Israel has put a blockage on the residents of Gaza meaning they can not enter nor leave the city. The city is runned by Hamas "militants" but seriously...are they really a threat to the Israelis?? They can barely run their own city and they were democratically voted in! The other issue that i had with this crisis was that the Gaza residents that were pouring into Egypt were called MILITANTS! these are not "militants" but simple residents going into Egypt to get simple basic needs like as quoted from the CBC article...

"Tens of thousands of Palestinians have since streamed across the border to buy items such as fuel, food, cleaning supplies, televisions, crates of soft drinks and cigarettes — items in short supply in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip. Others reunited with relatives they hadn't seen in months or years."

"El-Ramadi recalled the joy she felt when she managed to cross into Egypt on Wednesday to shop for basic items hard to come by in Gaza. "I went there to buy things that my children ask for: cookies, sweets," she said. "They miss them a lot."
Simple basic needs that the Israeli government has blocked off that the Gaza residents can not get but are relying on Egypt to get their needs to live.

Also according to the CBC article on Friday, Israel carried out strikes on Hamas "militiamen" in the town of Rafah.

"Israel and Egypt have banned most crossings in and out of Gaza since Hamas seized control of the territory in June. Egypt has kept its border closed, tacitly supporting Israel's blockade out of fear of a spillover of Hamas-style militancy to its territory. El-Ramadi said Gazans will be extremely frustrated if Egypt closes the border and they are sealed in the territory again. "We will be back in the prison," she said."
